ON THE ORIGIN OF SPECIESISM "So when I say the word vegan to you, what do you think of? I used to think that vegans forced their views. But one day I realized that nothing could ever be as forceful as taking the life of someone who does not wish to die... taking the life of an animal who does not wish to die. Do we require more than sensory pleasure alone to morally justify an action? Remember, that a meal to us lasts only a matter of minutes, but that meal has cost an animal their entire life. We take their life for a moment that is fleeting. A meal that we forget about almost as soon as we have consumed it. I used to think that vegans forced their views, I said this regularly. But one day I realized that nothing could ever be as forceful as taking the life of someone who does not wish to die... taking the life of an animal who does not wish to die. And so in the end, that’s why I became vegan. Because when put into perspective, my arguments held no voracity, no credibility, no validity. Fundamentally I called myself an animal lover, yet I paid for animals to suffer and die on my behalf. Through all of the excuses I used to make I realized that my values contradicted my actions, and DEEP DOWN I COULD FIND NO REAL JUSTIFICATION." - EARTHLING ED WINTERS

about

I wrote and recorded these songs in April of 2020, while in my fourth week of COVID-19 solitary confinement government lockdown (“quarantine”/“isolation”).
Ethan had laced the drum tracks a few months beforehand for some ideas I had, and thanks to this bizarre period of human history we are collectively experiencing, I finally found the inspiration to write music/lyrics and finish them.

If you are paying attention, you too have grown increasingly frustrated at the fact that this Coronavirus pandemic (thousands upon thousands of deaths, nearly full collapse of modern society) was entirely avoidable had humans just accepted what vegans/animal liberation activists have been saying for decades -
LEAVE ANIMALS THE F ALONE!

And now here we are... Too late to turn back and fix what's already been done, now we can only try to force a change for the future so this never happens again. No, this pandemic is not the fault of a lone Asian person eating a bat (an extremely racist/xenophobic take in order to absolve your white western culpability and make excuses for the animals you choose to eat); whether it’s bird flu (1918), swine flu, mad cow disease, or whatever else comes next, remember that this could have all been avoided if all animal agriculture, abuse, and consumption ended.

I’m sick and tired of hearing weak arguments and excuses from animal abuse apologists saying “it’s not the time” to discuss these truths, as they attempt to downplay the scientifically documented factual reality that virtually every one of these deadly emerging viruses/diseases originates from human animals needlessly abusing/consuming non-human animals (yes this includes COVID-19, but let’s not forget that animal agriculture/exploitation is also one of, if not *the* leading cause of the current climate crisis as well).

The entire world is forever changed because of these undeniable facts, so -
IF NOT NOW, WHEN
should we finally have these discussions and collectively, as a species, make massive but absolutely necessary changes for the sake of the entire planet and all of it's inhabitants?

Are the billions of animal's lives slaughtered every year not enough?
Is the climate crisis bringing us towards extinction not enough?
Are mass graves now being dug for hundreds, if not thousands, of human lives due to this pandemic not enough?
What will it take to convince you that eating animals simply for your selfish pleasure and lazy convenience is no longer justifiable?
You can no longer deny that it is quite literally, not figuratively, killing us all.

The time is now.
Right now.
Your taste buds are not more important than our lives.
Human and non-human.
This way of life is not compassionate.
This way of life is not sustainable.
This way of life is not necessary.
Human and non-human liberation is the only way.

For our collective survival, this global evolution is a xNECESSITYx.
